Minister of Interior in the Palestinian government Mr. Fathi Hammad announced that his ministry intends to levy troops voluntarily and then compulsory in the Gaza Strip.
 
He said that during a speech at the opening ceremony of the General Directorate of Training (Abd Al Aziz Al-Rantisi site) in Al-Twam area and graduating a course, in the presence of the police head, MPs of the Legislative Council and a number of heads of departments in the ministry.
Hammad also said: "We promise everyone that the Ministry of Interior will continue in training and preparation, appreciating the role of trainers and the General Directorate of Training .
 
Mr. Fathi Hammad confirmed that the Ministry of Interior managed to combine the muscle and physical strength through the sessions which have been held by the General Directorate of Training, adding: "We rely on ourselves in the academic and field training, so we have opened the Police College."
 Mahmoud Salah, general director of General Directorate of Training mentioned that the General Directorate of Training was activated according to a ministerial resolution; to standardize the training process and cooperate with the governmental and non-governmental authorities .
