The Israeli occupation forces quelled a peaceful march in Al-Khalil city on Saturday in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails who have been on hunger strike for nearly three weeks.

Yousef Abu Maria, the coordinator of the National Committee against the Wall and Settlements in Beit Ummar town northern Al-Khalil, said that the Israeli occupation soldiers attacked the demonstrators, seriously wounding one of them.

Abu Maria pointed out that the march was organized in solidarity with prisoners who are suffering harsh conditions in Zionist prisons, and to denounce the practices of the occupation against Beit Ummar town, most recently the arrest of two children and the spray of toxic substances on grapevines.
