Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior and National Security Mr. Kamel Abu Madi said: "The ministry maintains the Palestinian human rights and public and private freedoms in accordance with the law."
Abu Madi confirmed that access to public office in the ministry is subject to the principle of competence, experience, and objectivity.
He pointed out that access to a job in the Ministry of Interior as a sovereign and not subject to the requirements for obtaining a safety security in place in 1994, considering the law of safety harm the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.
Abu Madi added: "We did not inherit the security safety from the former Authority, because we suffered a lot from this unfair decision ."
On the other hand, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior commented on the Ramallah government's decision to stop working conditions for access to safety security for jobs and get work permits, saying that "all NGOs in the Gaza Strip are given licenses by the Ministry of Interior according to the principle of public interest."
Abu Madi denied imposing any restrictions on the license for any associations that aim to serve the Palestinian community in all areas; stressing that the ministry respect the right of forming associations and institutions as a constitutional right stipulated by the Societies Act No. 1 of 2000.
Moreover, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior refuted the health news stories that talked about the registration of associations in the Gaza Strip is on the basis of factional, indicating the high confidence of the Palestinian people to the executive and leadership in the Gaza Strip.
Abu Madi affirmed that they rely on the principle of transparency and legal and national liability in the registration of non-governmental associations and institutions, adding "to be registered on the basis of goals that are compatible with the higher interests of our people."
