Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture denounced burning dozens of planted acres of wheat in the town of Abasan in the east of Khan Yunis, pointing out that the Israeli occupation forces escalated their arbitrary measures against the farmers along the eastern and northern border of the Gaza Strip.
The ministry considered that the military escalation against the farmers in the Gaza Strip comes in conjunction with the escalation by the Israeli occupation soldiers and settlers in the villages and towns in the West Bank, calling for international and Arab intervention to protect the farmers on their land and to ensure their right to work.
In a related context, the Ministry of Agriculture condemned the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian fishermen in the sea of Gaza Strip, noting that the gunboats captured last week a number of fishermen and seized their boats and took them to an unknown destination.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Agriculture held the Zionist occupation full responsibility for the lives of fishermen, calling for human rights institutions, particularly the International Committee of Red Cross to immediately intervene for the release of fishermen and their equipments.
