Gaza premier Ismail Haneyya said on Monday that the recent Israeli military escalation against the Gaza Strip was an attempt to mix up cards in the Palestinian and Arab arenas.
Haneyya, addressing reporters at a mourning tent pitched for the late Saudi Crown Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz in Shifa hospital’s Prince Nayef Center for Tumors, condemned such military escalation that killed two citizens on Monday and injured five on Sunday night.
He also congratulated the Egyptian people over the success of the presidential elections, adding that this government was following the elections process and waiting for the official announcement of the result.
The premier hoped that the elections would lead Egypt into re-assuming its pioneering role in defending Arab and Islamic issues in general and the Palestine cause in particular.
