The Israeli occupation forces prevented at Ram checkpoint, a cancer patient from Jenin, from traveling to Jerusalem to get treatment at Augusta Victoria Hospital,  the only hospital providing comprehensive services to cancer patients, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgical interventions after the PA health ministry stopped referring Palestinian patients to Jordanian hospitals.

The citizen Haitham Omar Saleem Abu Bakr, 50, from Jenin said that he suffers from a serious health condition where he is in dire need of treatment at the Augusta Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem to get blood platelets which are not available in the West Bank.

He added that the occupation prevented him from entering Jerusalem, despite receiving a medical referral from the Ministry of Health in Ramallah to follow up the treatment, but the occupation authorities refused to grant him a permit to enter Jerusalem.
