An Israeli court in occupied Jerusalem has extended the remand of Samer Al-Issawi for ten days and refused to let him see a lawyer.
Samer’s sister Shireen, a lawyer herself, said in a press statement that the court hearing on Friday evening was in-camera. She added that the court refused the lawyer’s request to see his client or to release him on bail.
Israeli occupation forces arrested Samer from his home last week and held him in custody till Friday when he was held for an additional ten days at the court order for further investigation.
Samer was serving a 30-year sentence and spent ten years of them in Israeli jails before his release in the Wafa Al-Ahrar prisoners’ exchange deal late last year. All his brothers and his sister, the lawyer, were detained by the Israeli authorities on past occasions while their home was frequently stormed by the IOF soldiers.
