Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior and National Security Mr. Kamel Abu Madi, has called again the Egyptian leadership to open the Rafah crossing permanently and around the o'clock; to enhance the steadfastness of the Palestinians.
Abu Madi confirmed in a statement to the Interior Ministry's website on Tuesday that more than 20 thousand Palestinians registered on the waiting list to travel via the crossing to go to their work, universities and Arab hospitals for treatment.
The Undersecretary of Interior Ministry pointed out that more than three thousand passengers delay their travel for several days.
Abu Madi warned of a crisis because of the delay of travel at the crossing, especially in this times the Palestinian communities abroad come to spend the summer vacation and the growing numbers of pilgrims during the holy month of Ramadan.
He expressed high confidence in the Egyptian leadership to end to the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.
