Ministry of Interior and National Security has released 159 inmates from the reform and rehabilitation centers on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, as a noble deed from the Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh and Interior Minister Mr. Fathi Hammad.
Lieutenant colonel Ala'a Sorour announced that159 inmates from different rehabilitation and reform centers in the governorates of the Gaza Strip were released and 19 inmates were granted a home leave and provide speedy trials for 72 inmates who have spent long periods without trial.
Sorour said "the government in all occasions and in Ramadan used to release many inmates, to make them feel joy and happiness with their families."
Moreover, major Shahwan said in a speech on behalf of Interior Ministry: "We stand here today to announce the honorable noble deed of Prime Minister to release 159 inmates from the reform and rehabilitation centers on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan."
Major Shahwan added: "This is a humanitarian role for the Interior Ministry," pointing out that the released inmates were subjected to rehabilitation and reform programs and participated in many reform programs to correct their behaviors.
Major Shahwan also appreciated the role of workers in the Directorate General of Reform and Rehabilitation Centers in the Ministry of Interior and National Security.
