The Israeli occupation authority has renewed the administrative detention of Faze' Sawafte, a Hamas leader, for the second time running, the Ahrar center for prisoners’ studies and human rights said.

Fuad Al-Khafsh, director of the center, said that Sawafte was arrested on 9/2/2012 and held in administrative custody immediately after his arrest without leveling any charge against him.

He was transferred from Megiddo jail to Gilboa for heading a committee of prisoners to activate the issue of administrative detainees.

Khafsh noted that Sawafte served 13 years on aggregate in Israeli jails, adding that he contracted diabetes while in detention in 2008. He is married and has three children.
