Independent MP Jamal Al-Khudari has said that Gaza was in need of a number of vital projects to ward off future disasters.

Khudari said in a press release on Monday that UNRWA had said in a report that Gaza would face disasters by 2020 in the event siege and occupation were not over.

Noting that 90% of potable water in Gaza was not fit for human consumption, the lawmaker said that the enclave was in urgent need of water, electricity, and sewage projects.

Khudari said that more projects were also needed in the educational sector and to provide work for the soaring number of unemployed especially among the new graduates and the poor families.
