Palestinian ministry of tourism and antiquities in Gaza opened on Tuesday the gallery of historical documents and manuscripts at the headquarters of Pasha's Palace museum in Gaza city.
The opening ceremony, which received notable media coverage, was attended by minister of tourism Ali Tershawi and a number of Palestinian officials and dignitaries.
"The opening of the gallery of manuscripts and historical documents today is a testament to the unique long history of this land and its civilization and a product of the successive human heritage and culture that ruled the land of Palestine as well as it is real proof to the whole world that the people of Palestine are the true owners of this land," minister Ali Tershawi stated in the ceremony.
He added that this gallery is part of his ministry's strategic plan to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable tourism development and raise the cultural awareness among the young generations about the civilization of their ancestors.
The attendees were given a detailed explanation about the contents of the gallery and its sections, including the visual display corner for the presentation of ancient manuscripts.
