IOA releases a prisoner from Gaza after ten years in prisons

Israeli Occupation authorities (IOA) released, on Thursday, a Palestinian detainees from the Gaza Strip, after serving his ten-year prison sentence.

Palestinian sources said that the occupation authorities released Thursday morning the detainee, Fawzi Almaswaba, 38, from the Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City, after ten years in occupation prisons.

The occupation forces arrested Almaswaba in 2002 at a military checkpoint in the Gaza Strip before pulling out, and sentenced him to ten years in prison for resisting the occupation.

Dozens of his friends and relatives were waiting for him at Erez crossing in Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, and took him to his hometown in the Shati refugee camp.

The Israeli occupation detains in its prisons nearly five thousand Palestinian prisoners, including 470 prisoners from the Gaza Strip, most of them have high sentences.
