Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security confirmed the a young man (m. z), 28, committed suicide while he was detention in the central prison of Khan Younis in custody on a criminal background.
The ministry said in a press statement that "young man (m. z) was arrested by the prosecution on Tuesday morning 16/10 on the pending investigation of burning his uncle's car."
The ministry explained that the young man hung himself by blanket, then he was transferred immediately to the hospital and he was in critical condition, but he died in the hospital.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that they had opened an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident and the body will be displayed on the forensic medicine.
