Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has renewed his intent to visit the Gaza Strip soon, stressing that lifting the Israeli siege imposed on Gaza is one of the Turkish demands to restore the Turkish-Israeli relations.

Erdogan told reporters on his way back home from a Berlin visit that he intends to visit the Gaza Strip soon to express solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Regarding the crisis in the Turkish-Israeli relations, he said that Ankara’s relations with Tel Aviv cannot be mended before Israel abides by three main conditions; lifting the siege on Gaza, apologizing to Turkey and paying compensation to families of the Turkish nationals who were killed by the Israeli navy in the attack on Mavi Marmara solidarity ship.

The crisis in the Turkish-Israeli relations followed the Israeli attack on the solidarity ship that was carrying activists and relief material to Gaza in an attempt to break the siege on Gaza people, in late May 2010. The attack killed nine Turkish activists.
