Palestinian Ministry of Interior has confirmed that it is responsible for maintaining security and public order, and it affirmed that every citizen has the right of freedom and dignity and refused the wrong act which done by some policemen in the unknown soldier square in Gaza.
So, the Interior Ministry decided to form a commission of inquiry headed by Major General Salah Al-Din Abu Sharekh, director general of Internal Security, Major General Jamal Al-Jarrah, director of National Security and Mr. Ibrahim Salah director of public relations and information at the Ministry of Interior.
The committee's members will meet to determine the developments of what happened and take the necessary recommendations which will be announced later, and the ministry emphasizes on the following:
1. The role of Palestinian policemen and security men is a responsible role and their mission is maintaining security and public order.
2. Any act disagrees with our known culture, that saves the dignity of citizens, is an unacceptable act.
3. The formation of a highest-level committee to investigate this incident is a clear indication that we do not accept such individual behaviors by members of the security services.
4. The results of the investigation will be announced unmistakably.
5. We will not allow anyone to assault the policemen specially the women police.
6. We will not allow anyone to attack our women and daughters, and the freedom of expression is guaranteed for all.
7. We will not allow anyone to violate the law and public order, and the Interior Ministry will protect public and private freedoms.
