The Israeli occupation authority has released on Sunday Hamas leader Ra’fat Nassif after 44 months of administrative detention.
Relatives said that Nassif was released at Daheria roadblock to the south of Al-Khalil, adding that the first thing Nassif would do is extend condolences to Dr. Aziz Dweik, the Palestinian legislative council speaker, over the death of his wife.
They said that Nassif would then head to Tulkarem where he would be received at Ennab roadblock to the east of the city by dozens of people, MPs of the change and reform bloc and liberated prisoners who would escort him in a convoy to his home in the city where he would be receiving well-wishers.
Nassif has won a case against his detention that would not allow its renewal.
Nassif was arrested in his house on 12/3/2009 after one month of his marriage and was held without trial or charge, in administrative custody, for 45 months. He has thus served 11 years on aggregate in Israeli occupation jails.
