The Arab League has condemned the Israeli bombing of Gaza and demanded an immediate end to the aggression on the besieged Strip.
Ahmed Bin Hilli, the League’s assistant secretary general, said that the Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian people and Gaza in particular should come to a halt.
He said that secretary general Nabil Al-Arabi was holding intensified contacts with the Palestinian authorities and the Arab countries to unite ranks and agree on steps to be taken at such a sensitive stage.
League sources said that Arabi was discussing the convening of an emergency meeting for the Arab foreign ministers to discuss the situation in Gaza and means of checking the Israeli aggression.
