Mishaal, Erdogan, Oglu in Cairo to discuss Gaza aggression

Khaled Mishaal, the political bureau chairman of Hamas, arrived in Cairo on Saturday at the head of a senior delegation to discuss the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza.

Well informed Egyptian sources told the PIC that Mishaal’s arrival coincided with the scheduled visits for Turkish premier Recep Erdogan and secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ekmeleddin ?hsano?lu to Cairo.

The sources expected the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Al Thani to arrive in Cairo also on Saturday for the same purpose of discussing the situation in Gaza with Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi.

The sources said that the discussion would focus on means of restoring calm to the beleaguered enclave after four days of incessant Israeli raids that killed 40 Palestinians and wounded dozens others.

Egypt held contacts with a number of countries topped by the USA, Russia, UK, and Italy to adopt a unified position vis-à-vis the Israeli military escalation against Gaza.
