The head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas", Khaled Mishaal, confirmed the movement refusal to any Israeli condition to reach truce, stressing that the party who started the war has to stop it.
Mishaal confirmed that Hamas would only agree to a cease-fire if its demands are met. “We don’t accept Israeli conditions because it is the aggressor,” he said. “We want a cease-fire along with meeting our demands.”
Meshaal said, in a press conference held in Cairo on Monday evening: "the Israeli weapons are stronger than our weapons, but our will is stronger than their will.”
Mashaal also suggested that Israel’s threat of invading Gaza was simply a ploy. He said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “is waving the threat of a ground offensive and asking the world to pressure Egypt, Turkey and Qatar, to put pressure on Hamas.”
Our demands are to end the brutal aggression on our people in Gaza and to lift the inhumane siege on Gaza strip, he said praising the Egyptian efforts to reach a truce.
“Netanyahu wants to negotiate with us under fire to impose his conditions, pretending he is acting from a position of strength,” Mashaal said.
The Palestinian leader stressed the resistance's will to win the battle, "our heroes are ready for all surprises", he said, calling on the people of Gaza to trust the Palestinian resistance.
He said that the Israeli enemy failed in achieving its objectives, stressing that the Israeli occupation wanted to say that he can launch and end war whenever it wants, but the resistance has surprised it by its will and determination.
Mishaal stated that the enemy wanted through this aggression to succeed in the Israeli election, he aimed to test the post-revolutionary Egypt and Arab spring countries but they were all against its expectation. He added that the Israeli occupation wanted to test its military capacities and its weapons and its iron dome but they were all against its expectations also.
He stressed that the Palestinian resistance succeeded to modify the balance of power in favor of the Palestinian people by compensating for fire power by its sheer will and determination.
Israeli leaders have repeatedly threatened to widen the offensive and to target children and women to cover its military failure before the Palestinian people, he said.
To the international community Mishaal said, your interests are with the people of this region and not with a usurping entity.
