Gaza / Interior Ministry
Interior Ministry and National Security has denied news that talks about allowing Fatah movement to commemorate the 48th anniversary in the green yard "Al-Kateeba" in the west of Gaza City, stressing that consultations are still continuing to locate the festival.
The spokesperson for the ministry major Islam Shahwan said on Sunday that "his ministry had not received any instructions until the moment on agreeing to organize Fatah festival the courtyard of Al-Kateeba."
He explained that the Palestinian government has agreed to allow Fatah to revive its inception in Gaza, bit it did not specify the location of the festival.
Shahwan showed that a delegation of Fatah movement met last Thursday with a number of security leaders in the ministry to allow them to organize the festival in Gaza.
He noted that Fatah movement should pledge not to disrupt security and public order, pointing out that the interior ministry did not oppose organizing a festival on the land of Gaza; to strengthen the reconciliation between "Hamas" and "Fatah."
Shahwan stressed that the interior ministry is waiting for instructions from the competent authorities to specify the place of Fatah festival.
