The vice Palestinian premier in the Gaza strip, Zyad al- Zaza , stated that Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip costs the Palestinian people 250 million $ per month.
al- Zaza said in a meeting organized by the government Information Office that the continued Israeli closure of the crossings significantly affect the economic, financial and political sectors in the Gaza strip.
"What comes into the Gaza strip through Israeli crossings when opened is just 35 - 50% of the need of the Gaza strip, including food , cooking gas and building materials, which are located only for international institutions.'' al-Zaza said.
He noted that the first Israeli war on the Gaza strip caused the Gaza strip losses estimated to 2 billion dollars ,while the last Israeli war caused the besieged enclave around 1.2 billion dollars, adding that Israeli occupation has not compensate any of Gaza people over these losses.
He explained that Kerem Abu Salem crossing has been closed for 16 days continuously in March in addition to Fridays and Saturdays, which are weekly holidays.
In April, IOF closed the crossing 6 days consecutively without reasons and they did not commit to any pledge signed with the Egyptian or Turkey.
Al- Zaza called on the whole world to take urgent action to lift the injustice Israeli siege imposed on the Palestinian people and stop Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.
