Israeli authorities released the longest-serving administrative detainee Dirar Abu Munshar, 34, whose detention lasted for three years.
Abu Munshar, from Al-Khalil city in the southern West Bank, served his detention moving among several Israeli prisons.
Director of Ahrar Center for Human Rights Fouad al-Khafash said Saturday in a press release “Abu Munshar was detained on May 20th, 2010.
His administrative detention was extended six times; and he was previously arrested five times, and had served 6 years in the Israeli occupation prisons”
“Abu Munshar is married and father of three children.
He couldn’t complete his university education because of the repeated arrests,” al-Khafash added.
He called on international human rights organizations to develop a plan for protecting the right of Palestinians prisoners not to be administratively detained.
