Palestinian premier Ismail Haneyya said that Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi intends to convene an international conference soon on occupied Jerusalem in Cairo. Premier Haneyya made his remarks in a graduation ceremony held on Friday evening by the nursing faculty at the Islamic university in the Gaza Strip. Haneyya stated that the issue of Jerusalem and its exposure to Israeli violations were tabled extensively during the meetings that were held recently by a delegation from Hamas with the Egyptian president and the Turkish premier during their visits to Cairo and Ankara. The Palestinian premier, who was among the delegation that visited some regional countries, said that Morsi promised them to convene a conference in support of Jerusalem in Cairo, noting that the issue of Jerusalem was also addressed during their meeting with the Turkish premier. He affirmed that Turkish premier Recep Erdogan, in turn, pledged to support the Islamic study sessions that are held at the Aqsa Mosque and raise the number of participating students. The Palestinian premier also reviewed some of the Israeli Judaization activities which he said are aimed at erasing the Arab-Palestinian culture of the holy city and defiling the Aqsa Mosque.
