Palestinian activists set up on Saturday morning Canaan-5 tent village near the Gush Etzion settlement bloc in Bethlehem to the south of the West Bank. Hasan Breijeh, the coordinator of the committee against the wall and settlements in the Bethlehem area, told Quds press that dozens of Palestinian activists set up what they called Canaan-5 tent in allusion to Canaan Palestinian village that was demolished several times by the Israeli occupation forces. The activists pitched a tent near the Gush Etzion settlement bloc while the IOF sent special forces apparently to suppress the activists’ attempt to re-build the tent village as they did four times before. The activists said that the establishment of the tent came in protest against settlement projects, most recently the railway plan, and against the PA return to negotiations.
