Interior Minister demands deterrent sentences against criminals

Minister of Interior Fathi Hammad holds responsibility of high rate of crime on some official parties during last period amid none-implementing of deterrent sentences .He said the legislative council deals with laws that do not suit the situation in Gaza Strip . He pointed out ministry of interior warns recently about high rates of crimes and demands necessity of Legal amendments and deterrent judicial decisions . Hammad expressed his disappointment as ministry of interior cannot not react to treat with some questions so that it will be criticized by all levels .Hammad stressed , " Prestige of Interior Ministry is promoting more and more since it makes efforts to get experiences and skills from abroad as 30 officers have been sent to Sudan to get higher education .Also , we have the faculty of police for qualification of officers ." Hammad incited legislative council to increase custody hours to 72 hours instead of 48 hours since policemen need more time to manage investigation and gather information and arrest the violators of the law. "We cannot do our tasks during 48 hours ,the suspect turns quickly to the general prosecution and then our responsibility becomes only to guard the criminals inside prisons amid full care in matters of food and coordinating family visits !" , Minister Hammad added . He confirmed the access of Tramadol recently provokes bad people to commit crimes referring that Israeli occupation is a basic factor in this question . He declared Gaza Strip needs a social center to monitor development of crimes pointing out the ministry of interior is going to conclude a comprehensive study concerning definition of crime and its reasons in cooperation with 20 official and youth societies . Hammad emphasized recommendation of study will be published in mass media during next period in order to control social behaviors which violate law and norms and in order to make everyone hold responsibility towards this question . He added ,criminals exploits Law loopholes to commit crimes . Hammad was astonished as there is no research centers in legislative council which identify and deal with Law loopholes and some laws do not get along with circumstances of society. Hammad stated ministry of interior is ready to train individuals to be guards referring that number of guards in interior ministry is 6 000 who are distributed in all association of Gaza Strip . "Soon , we will witness implementing death sentences against criminals " ,he said .He demands implementing death sentences in public places in various times so that we will not be accused as a police State . He added: "The punishment must be overtly and covertly as a part of treatment of crime in order to be a lesson for anyone who violates laws and norms . Concerning documents discovered by Hamas in Ramadan , Hammad referred that cells from Fatah movement still receive instructions from authority in Ram Allah to deform image of Palestinian people and resistance in front of public opinion . In a separated context , Hammad affirmed security on borders is stable and security services monitors what is happening there . He mentioned communications with Egyptian intelligence is limited because of abnormal situation in Egypt pointing out situation of Rafah Crossing Border is not good . "Our concern is protecting internal front and we have contacts with leaderships in Egypt ,everything publishes on mass media is targeted to unfix security" , He assured . He explained events in Egypt affected directly many sectors in Palestinian society due to destruction of tunnels and stopping importing goods and cars adding that any regime comes after Morsi will affect us negatively .
