Education Ministry Terminates Preparations Of New Academic Year 2013

Report :Hanadi Almallahi Undersecretary of Ministry of Education Dr Ziad Thabet announced that new academic year will start on 25th of august 2013 in compatibility between two wings of the country, as (228 076) students will attend government and private schools whereas nearly (224 795) students will attend UNRWA schools . Dr. Thabet said ministry has completed various preparations to welcome the new year through the installation , maintenance ,and furnishing of school buildings . It also redistributes students to schools especially in light of the opening of 20 new schools .Moreover , ministry of education completes the distribution of books to schools in order to be in the hands of students in the first day of school . He pointed out that a number of new teachers will be assigned after passing interviews .He added new academic year will give opportunity to deaf student to pass general secondary examination for the first time . Undersecretary explained new school year coincides with launching its five-year strategic plan which focuses on promotion of education in the basic stage and vocational education . He stressed the new academic year will witness the presence of (zero kindergartens) in 14government primary school by two schools in each district, which is a unique experience to be evaluated .This plan aims at integrating kindergartens in schools through a systematic plan in education which is done in collaboration with UNESCO, UNICEF , he emphasized . Regarding the curriculum , Dr .Thabet referred that there are several elective courses for students of high primary stage , such as Health and Environment , Hebrew language , French language, life skills and human rights . During this new year ,a new curriculum will be taught from eighth grade to tenth and there are new curriculum in technology and English language for the fifth and sixth grade , he mentioned . ,
