Health Ministry in Gaza faces a Real Disaster amid tightened Siege

REPORT Palestinian health minister Mofeed Mokhalalati urges International Community to practice pressure on Israeli Occupation so that it lifts illegal siege imposed on Gaza Strip and permits the access of medicines ,medical supplies ,and basic construction materials . He says , in a press conference hold yesterday , "Health sector bases in Gaza face a real disaster ,everyone in the world has to carry its responsibility in back of medical needs for Palestinian patient amid closure of Rafah Border Crossing ." Mokhalalati points out ,145 types of medicine run out and medicines balance which are imported by Rafah Border Crossing decreased to 30% . 1000 patients cannot receive treatment in specialized Egyptian hospitals ,in addition to 300 one referred officially by health ministry , the minister adds . He explains ,ongoing closure of Rafah Terminal unfortunately deprives hundreds of patients from surgical services offered by specialized delegations from various States in the world . Mokhalalati warns that quantity of fuel necessary for generators and ambulances is not enough amid 12 hours of electricity disconnection , explaining that health centers need 360 liters per a month . He appeals to siblings in Egypt for opening Rafah Border Crossing in both directions to alleviate sufferings of Palestinian people in particular humanitarian cases . Mokhalalati ask International Organizations for support of steadfastness of Palestinian people to ensure continuous medical service . He urges human rights organizations including International Committee of Red Cross ICRC , United Nations for Humanitarian Affairs , and World Health Organization to support therapeutic rights of patients, their freedom of movement across Gaza crossings ,demanding them also to support the hospitals and health centers with medicines ,medical consumables , and fuel necessary to run generators in 13 hospitals and 56 primary care center, in addition to ambulances..
