Prominent Islamic and national political figures in Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied lands called on all Palestinians to participate in the rally to be organized in Bab Al-Amoud area at five o'clock on Tuesday evening in support of the holy city and the Aqsa Mosque. This came in a press release issued following an urgent meeting held on Sunday in Jerusalem. Their statement said that the rally would be a response to the growing Jewish break-ins and violations at the Aqsa Mosque, and mainly aimed to confront the mega march which was called for by Jewish officials and groups. The Palestinian figures highlighted in their statement that Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque is a red line and an Islamic holy site belonging solely to the Muslim nation. They strongly denounced the Arab and Muslim silence on the serious Jewish violations against the Aqsa Mosque and stressed the need to confront the intended Jewish mega march and protect the Mosque against any desecration. The religious and national figures also appealed to the organization of Islamic cooperation and the Arab League to urgently move to save the Aqsa Mosque from the clutches of the occupation.
