Palestinian premier in Gaza Ismail Haneyya asked Russia to intervene to lift the siege on Gaza Strip and to end its power crisis.
Haneyya asked for Moscow’s intervention in a telephone contact with Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday night.
The premier told Lavrov that Gaza has been reeling under a tight blockade since 2006 and its power crisis had been plaguing the population for the past few weeks.
Haneyya had received a phone call from Qatari premier Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al-Thani on Tuesday night during which the same issues were tackled.
