Ministry of Interior in Gaza refuted an Egyptian indictment of 70 Palestinians for interfering in Egyptian affairs and breaking into Egyptian prisons during January 25 revolution in 2011.

The ministry said in a statement that “the indictment is totally invalid that it is based on false and inaccurate information,”
“It comes against the backdrop of a defamation campaign launched by Egyptian media against Palestinians with the aim of building wedges in the relationship between the two peoples, and demonizing the besieged population of Gaza,” the statement added.
The ministry called on the Egyptian authorities “to stop the Egyptian media’s allegation which have become a cliché and stand by Gaza people instead in the face of the occupation,”
“Egypt's national security is a priority; we will not allow anybody to shake it," the statement added, wishing security and peace for the Egyptian people.
