Interior Ministry licenses(permits) 10 of local and foreign associations

Civil Department  at Interior Ministry - has given licenses for 10 local and foreign associations during the first quarter of 2014. Therefore , number of registered associations in the Interior Ministry in Gaza Strip has increased to 896 .
According to the latest statistics released by the General Administration of Public Affairs and NGOs at the Ministry of Interior, registered associations in the ministry vary between 822 local associations and 74 foreign associations ,including  Arab, Islamic , European, and American association .
On the other hand,  the assistant deputy for public and political affairs in Ministry of interior, Mr. Tharwat  Albaik said  ," this number of associations in Gaza Strip is considered as a positive indicator for the progress of the Palestinian society, especially NGOs which play an important role in the development of society ".
Mr Albaik pointed out , Palestine in general and Gaza in particular, occupies second degree among Arab societies in terms of number of licensed associations.
Albaik said that the Interior Ministry had already succeeded in encouraging  associations toward serving  and developing  Palestinian society properly to support the steadfastness of our people. He adds ," we seek to direct the associations to permanent  development in parallel with the relief projects ".
Finally, he noted that interior ministry works through a program of associations  performance indicators to consolidate the goal of development and encouraging  civil associations to serve the Palestinian community.
