The Energy and Natural Resources Authority in Gaza warned about power cut if fuel quantities imported remained limited.
The Authority said in a press statement that “The Israeli occupation authorities limited the quantities of fuel shipped via Kerem Shalom crossing to the Strip, which may lead to power disconnection,”
The statement pointed out that the plant originally suffers lack of fuel supplies.
The authority appealed to all responsible parties for taking immediate measures to find a radical solution for the fuel crisis, in order to keep up the electricity distribution schedules already applied.
On June 26, 250,000 liters of synthetic diesel, an amount that is enough to the plant for one day, were allowed to enter Gaza to run the Gaza's sole power plant, a day after the authority warned the plant would shut down.
