News Story Twelve years have passed, when Abdul Karim Remawi, a Palestinian prisoner, was arrested the other day, leaving behind his wife Lydia and his daughter Rand, who did not exceed eight months at that time. Years passed heavily, and the dream of parenthood grew up with Rand, who is now "a young lady" that wears hijab. Her father and mother wished that she would have a brother of her own but that was in vain until the day Ammar Zaban sent his sperms out of prison. That day, the world witnessed the arrival of the ambassador of freedom Muhanned Ammar Zaban. Lydia decided to have her own child out of the clutches of the Israeli occupation, who has been detaining her husband for twelve years now. "The moment Muhannad came obstacles, concerns and fears, which had controlled me and many of the wives of prisoners, faded away and it was the real motive behind the decision Abdul Karim and I made to undergo an In- vitro-Fertilisation IVF," Lydia said. Feeling Beyond Description When Lydia was about to give birth to Majd, she insisted on having a natural birthing to live the moment of his arrival and see him when he first goes out to life. And when she saw him and carried him between her arms, she embraced him and shed tears, in the presence of her family and her daughter Rand. "I could not handle myself, when I saw Majd. I started crying and kissing him; it was an indescribable feeling, mixed with the feelings of joy and sadness in the absence of Abdul Karim," said Lydia. "During my pregnancy, I had understood it little bit, but now I cannot believe that my child is in my hands, in spite of the iron bars that parted me from my husband since 12 years," Lydia added. "Now Majd adorns my life again; I now feel that I give something to my husband who sacrificed his life in prison, and I plant hope in him," Lydia confirmed. "Majd brought to our lives the joy of a new-born baby after a long absence". Muna Mansour, the PLC member, expressed her happiness for birth of Majd. She called on the international world to adopt the cause of the Palestinian prisoners.
